Meet the Founder

Marcy Holub, BME
Marcy is from Jerseyville, Illinois and has been involved in music most of her life. Starting on piano in 3rd grade (1993), Marcy began clarinet in 5th grade band (1995) and added other instruments during college, including saxophone (2004), flute (2006), percussion (2008), guitar (2012), melodica (2014), and ukulele (2018). Since 2004, she has taught many private lessons on these instruments, as well as a few voice lessons. In 2008, she earned an Associate in Arts and an Associate in Fine Arts from Lewis and Clark Community College and a Bachelor of Music Education from Greenville College in 2010. She furthered her music education at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (2011-2012) and studied Music Therapy at Maryville University (2012-2017).
From 2013-2022, Marcy taught various classes for Providence Fine Arts Center, Inc. (a homeschool organization in Ferguson, Missouri), including Intermediate Orchestra, Advanced Orchestra (Assistant), Percussion, Guitar, Stomp, Ukulele, and Ensemble. Through the years, she has instructed woodwind sectionals for both The Alton Youth Symphony (2007-2014) and Orchestrating Diversity in St. Louis, Missouri (2017-2018), as well as volunteered for Vacation Bible School at Delhi Baptist Church and Alton Baptist Church (2004-2008). She has performed in various ensembles at Lewis and Clark Community College (2004-2015); the annual spring musicals in Calhoun County and The Alton Municipal Band (2005-2018); The Glenn Miller Birthplace Society Big Band in Clarinda, Iowa (2006-2019); Pirates, Inc. (2015-2017); and her own Key of Steam since 2014. Marcy is currently teaching private lessons at Halpin Music Company, where she has taught various instruments since 2010 and was employed 2018-2020, assisting with their Kidzrock music program.
